I feel like starting over, and lots of things have happened. I had to take out mostof my CC because it was to laggy and it's still laggy and blah. I've heard your game is better after re-installing? True or not? And does anyone know about that program thing that lets you combine files into one? I've heard that that can be helpful with de lagging things. Thank you Mushrooom

I've not heard of this amazing revolutionary put your CC into one program before, but I've certainly heard of the reinstalling method before.

For the technical answer. No, reinstalling has nothing to do with how much your game lags or has bugs caused by CC. What people think is that it does because really what happens as you probably know is that everything resets back to it's orginal pure (well as pure as it can be) state. If you put your CC back in it will be the same, and once you have as many save files as you do now on your reinstalled game it will be just as laggy. Things like this: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=384014 can help with bugs in mods and what-not and this: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15129.0.html can help with laggy games due to too much CC. Hope that helps.

Ummm: Well the one from Delphy will need to so if you've got ambitions then I'd wait cause he's sure to update it.
But the decrapifier shouldn't ever need to be updated with the patches because it's only for CC in packaged file format (i.e. Monkey files).
Basically, the thing from Delphy just makes sure all of your CC folders are routed correctly, so if you have any bugs which turn out to be caused by mods which aren't functioning properly because they're not installed properly, then it'll fix that.
The decrapifier is a little more obscure. All it really does is if you run a monkey file through it it recompresses it into a smaller package size which will take a miniscule amount less time than before to load in your game. All the instructions are there on the page on how to use it. It's actually really simple. The only problem is decyphering maty's style of writing. haha.

This combines files: http://forums.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=362412
and this is a tutorial in how to make it work: http://club-crimsyn.dreamwidth.org/28336.html?#cutid1

I'm currently in the process of combining all my package files.
(At first the program looks intimidating, but it's not :B)

Hey pringle, I've merged some of my files and saved them. Is this what it's supposed to look like after I've saved it?

I've recently had the same issue.
Make sure you use the dashboard tool to check your CC before you compress it all....a considerable amount of my lag was reduced after deleting some sims 2 files that had got in there, files that were broken, and others than were directly conflicting with others.

Though if you're having issues with slow loading CAS, or have over 500 package files I suggest compressing, I did mine using this guide
http://livingsims.nl/forum/showthread.php?tid=733
Though I haven't bothered to change my simspack files to package to condense them as I never have any issues with my launcher, but it can be helpful if you do.

Haha, this has started something very time consuming for me. I've just realised. Lol.
I have to go through ALL of my CC, (thats more than 2000 files) and decide from their obscure names what they might be, then move them into a folder for that thing that I've decided they are.
Then, I'm going through all my installed sims3pack in the launcher (very painful process) and taking out certain things that I'd rather have in a compressed package file.
And to top it all of, I've decided that I might as well go through and get rid of the stuff I don't use or don't want anymore while I'm at it. haha. This is going to take A LONG time. :D

Hehe mine took forever too!!
I had some files that just wouldn't compress! So I had a number of compressions fail because there was one file in the bundle that didn't want to be squashed grrr
I was going to set them all up nice in folders under the right name.....but I was WAY too lazy for that, and it doesn't really make too much of a difference just makes it easier to find and delete files later on.
I haven't quite hit 2000 package files yet though hehe

lol yeah it is quite tedious. Luckily for me though, I have less CC than I use to because I took most out. I just finished compressing mine now and I put them under the site names and stuff. I'm so happy, I'm about to install ambitions, but I have to do my homework before I play Sad

I have a question for you both... When you guys compressed your package files, did it screw up your save files because you changed you CC? So like your CC in your old save files didn't work?

I'm almost done! I know, it's taken me two days to do it, but it'll be worth it!
I've saved mine based on where they are in the game. My catiories are:
Buildmode
Buymode
CAS
Clothes (Cause I need a separate one for this one it's so big)
Hair (yes this one too, haha, is the biggest)
Patterns (believe it or not I actually have... exactly 250 patterns. haha)

I couldn't do that, ti would take too long for me to figure out which was which. It was hard enough trying to decipher the names and what they were as it was. haha. But good on you for being more organised and less lazy than me. :D
And I'm also going to have one which is going to be stuff from the store... Haha, I'm so illegal!
